Some good Advice?

Stephane Dion: A Liberal Joe Clark?

Stephan Dion today announced that he would apply hard caps to emissions from Canada's largest polluters, who just happen to be some of Canada's largest and most prosperous employers.

This initially seems like a bold step in the direction of ethics & morality, away from the self indulgent greed motive that arguably drives our capitalist society. Does this place Dion apart from the pack in terms of placing long term goals that are best for everyone above short term political targets? One could argue that in the current green politcal environment he makes both gains simultaneously.
I believe he's shooting himself in the foot. He may be admirable in his honesty and will to do the 'right thing', but the bet on the Canadian population to trust in the same ideals when it means possibly losing jobs & toys is a bad one.
I'm reminded of Joe Clark in 1980 who, although arguably the most honest leading politician Federal Canada has seen in recent memory, was ousted by the slicker opposition (and some say by his own backstabbing caucus) for sticking to his morals above what makes better political sense.
It's not likely that Dion or anyone will ever make the same mathematical error as Clark did, but consider how long a person with an ego of Ignatieff's will endure being led by someone like Dion. Dion's sword of Damocles may very well be sitting next to him every day at work.

Final Exams

Studying for final exams.

It's amazing how I could spend an entire Weekend doing nothing when I know there's tonnes to do. Stick an exam in the middle of the next week and all of a sudden my body automatically starts polishing shoes, reorganizing whatever, picking up a novel that I didn't finish. Anything but study.
One thing's good about Final's season though: no more classes. No more being stuffed into a 350 person auditorium full of moronic 18-19 year olds talking to each other in the post-valley-girl-moron-vernacular (ie: "like" I totally "like" forgot to "like" do "like "any homework this semester? OH MY GAHD!! Like, that cute guy from "like" that "like" kegger just "like" totally "like" looked at me!!! ).
Thank god for ipod's. Otherwise loser cruiser transportation would be completely unbearable.
By the way, speaking of bus transport: if you have severe body odour, a suspicious twitch, Teret's syndrome, a severe mental defect, are extremely overweight, an obvious smoker just come in from the rain you'll probably be sitting next to me on the bus sometime or have in the past so Hi to you guys in case you're reading this. Every day's a new adventure.
Went for a run this morning with Smooth. Nothing like hammering through the rainforest on a Sunday morning.
Here's something 2-track sent along yesterday.

Hilarious.
